IVF Treatment - What’s The Safest Way to Go For IVF?

Author: James Johnson

Infertility is not such a rare problem anymore. Of course there were infertility problems before but they never used to come to the forefront due to peoples lack of trust in medicine.

With increased levels of stress and lack of time dedicated towards one’s own body, a lot of us face the problem of infertility. Do you want to have kids and are unable to conceive? The reason might be male infertility as well. Despite of infertility, you still can have hopes of becoming parents? You still can experience the joy of giving birth, the feeling of bringing to life a whole new person.

You can sense the feel of being a mother without many hassles. Or simply put do you want to be a mother? There are lots of people who have infertility problems. To every problem there is a solution so do not worry and consult your doctor for the possible alternative.

IVF is basically an aided reproduction technique, in which fertilization takes place in vitro (in glass). The man's sperm and the woman's egg are joint in a laboratory plate, and after fertilization, the consequential embryo is then put into the woman's uterus. IVF is a treatment alternative for couples with a certain type of infertility, and doctor executes the process in a laboratory so as to check the causes for the same.

In vitro fertilization is a very well known procedure for the cure of fertility. There could be plenty of reasons for infertility. A woman might not be able to carry a full length pregnancy or she might have a miscarriage in the middle of her pregnancy. Or it could be the biological inability to conceive. As opposed to the normal belief that only women are infertile, this problem could affect men as well. IVF is a very complex procedure and it is not recommended unless one has tried all kinds of treatments to conceive naturally. However after all your efforts to conceive fail for over a year, you can go in for IVF treatment. Here are a few things you should know before you start pursuing it.

There is an eligibility criterion for patients in IVF treatment. Woman who are very old and whose ovaries are falling should not try IVF treatments also men whose sperm count is lower than three million motile sperm should not opt for it. Although there is no age limit as such yet, woman with a damaged uterus must not consider the treatment.

The five basic steps in an IVF treatment cycle are super ovulation (stimulating the development of more than one egg in a cycle), egg retrieval, fertilization, embryo culture and embryo transfer.

One thing to remember is never to trust the clinic 100%. It doesn’t hurt to take a second and third opinion. In fact it could end up costing you less than the complications you would face had you blindly trusted some clinic. There is a lot of fake scams going on so one should be aware of all this and act wisely.
