Lazy Sperm: What it Is?

Author: Justin

The reasons why some couples are unable to conceive children are vast and varied. If you and your spouse have been unsuccessful in conceiving children, you are probably frustrated in not knowing why you are unable to become pregnant. If you are in this situation, it can be a good idea to visit a specialist to help determine the reason why you are unable to conceive.

One reason why some couples are unable to conceive is due to male infertility, specifically with an issue called lazy sperm. Basically what this term refers to is how many moving sperm a male has in his ejaculate and is used when the male has a low level of those moving sperm. A low level of moving sperm can greatly reduce the chances of a male impregnating a female.

There are many reasons why a male could have lazy sperm. One reason could be due to dehydration. If you are not drinking enough liquids each day, this could be causing your organs to perform at lower than peak levels, which includes your testicles. It is a good idea to consult with a doctor to determine how much liquid you should be drinking each day to prevent dehydration.

Lazy sperm could also be a result of a lack of vitamins in your diet. Certain vitamins are necessary in order to produce healthy sperm, so if you are not getting enough of those vitamins in your diet, this could be the culprit behind your issue. Again, it is wise to consult with a doctor to learn which vitamins you should be including in your diet and how you can get the necessary dosage of those vitamins.

These are just a few of the reasons behind lazy sperm and the inability to conceive. There are many more factors that can contribute to the amount of moving sperm that you have including your intake of drugs and alcohol, testicle temperature and many others. An infertility specialist can be a very valuable asset in determining the cause of your lazy sperm. It is also a good idea not to jump to the conclusion that this is the issue behind your inability to conceive before speaking with a doctor.
