Premature Labor

Author: Sandra Wilson

Expectant mothers all over the world, find themselves reading about the process of pregnancy. There are a lot of helpful materials available that can help a pregnant woman anticipate problems during pregnancy. One of these problems is when you notice signs of premature labor. Although some of these signs may prove to be harmless, while other should be watched with caution.

Vaginal bleeding or amniotic fluid discharge, are two occurrences to pay attention to. There are various vaginal bleeding causes, many of which have nothing to do with premature labor. But in extreme cases, this could be a valid consideration. It is always important to note when you are experiencing an amniotic fluid discharge.

If you are having an amniotic fluid discharge this is something to monitor. Since leaking of this fluid tends to signal the arrival of labor, this is especially important. So, amniotic fluid discharge can mean a premature labor for women who are well away from being full term. Your doctor will want to know all about your experiences in this situation. Remember that this is important for the safety of your unborn child.

Some vaginal bleeding causes that are quite normal are infections. A pregnant woman may experience an infection of any of the pelvic organs. Once one of these has been detected, vaginal bleeding causes become more apparent. Fortunately for these sufferers, infections can typically be treated without much trouble.

Amniotic fluid discharge gets a bit more attention in pregnant women, than does light to ordinary bleeding. There is a mucous plug, or consistency lining the cervix. When this mucous begins to thin or wear down, it tends to trigger the beginning of labor. At this point, amniotic fluid is known to leak out of the vaginal area.

A discharge can mean that the process of labor is being caused. So just like with any type of discharge, pregnant women need to be aware of their changes. Discharges, that are odorless, tend to be harmless. But those that smell usually exemplify other problems. A discharge of amniotic fluid can be particularly serious.

This can mean that there has been a premature rupturing of the membranes, and the start of labor. Depending on the time during the pregnancy this occurs, it could risk the life of the unborn child. Doctors often put women in this situation, on complete bed rest. This often requires being monition inside of the hospital.

After premature labor has been triggered, it is important that the pregnant woman’s vitals are watched. If she’s dilating, she must be watched even more closely. In instances where amniotic fluid is leaking steadily, labor is expected soon, as well. If this doesn’t occur within 1-2 days after leakage begins, there could be problems

Infection is one of these problems, as well as, any damage or risk to the baby. It is, many times necessary to induce labor, if it has not progressed sufficiently. At these times the woman is given a drug to speed up the process. This is done to protect both her and the baby.

Experiencing Discomfort in Pregnancy

Author: Sandra Wilson

Many women today, experience some sort of difficulty in their pregnancies. They will generally have a pregnancy that is plagued with discomfort and problems. Fortunately, for these women healthcare techniques are advancing all the time. And despite your specific condition, there’s a lot of assistance available.

One of the first signs women get that something important is going on with their pregnancy, is experiencing a sharp vaginal pain. Sharp vaginal pain can be caused by any numbers of things. Pregnant women often relate this occurrence with the idea that there’s something wrong with her baby. This is not necessarily the case, though.

There are some common causes for the experience of sharp vaginal pain. In some women, this will be because of sexual intercourse. This is normal, primarily where pregnant women are concerned. Many women experience some sort of lingering pain after having sex. Sharp vaginal pain, can also be caused by vaginitis, or yeast infection.

Both vaginitis and vaginal yeast infections can be treated by your physician, if you have this condition. Other symptoms, pregnant women, may experience, along with sharp vaginal pain, are common, as well. Some women may experience itching and burning of the vaginal area. These symptoms are easily treated by the use of topical creams. Many of these creams, can be purchased, over-the-counter.

Some expectant mothers will see a brown discharge along with their painful occurrences. Brown discharge, does not necessarily mean that there is any danger in your pregnancy. In fact, this is a common happening in women. When this brown discharge is seen, it simply proves that there is old, dry blood, present in the cervix.

When pregnant women see this, discharge, it is important to note, it can be caused by various reasons. This too, can be a result of sexual intercourse and some sort of cervical irritation. In some cases seeing a discharge that is brown is caused by a small tear in the cervix. And the discharge comes from that tear. This is not a particularly serious concern, unless extreme pain exists.

If you are still in early pregnancy, within 2 weeks after conception, discharge is normal. It is the body’s way of relieving itself of this old blood. This is sometimes the end of the blood from your last period. This blood comes out of the body, through a discharge that is often brown in color. Women, see this on a regular basis, and it doesn’t necessarily signal a problem.

There will, however, be cases that are serious concerns. This could show that there is something wrong with the pregnancy, or unborn child. Miscarriage is always a concern when a woman is having difficulty during pregnancy. Excessive pain and discharge can mean that a woman is having a miscarriage.

If these symptoms occur during your pregnancy, it is crucial that they not be ignored. Seek medical attention quickly. Sometimes visiting a doctor, or even the emergency room, is al that is needed. This is especially important in cases where this medical attention can save the pregnancy. Acting right away, can prevent a worse case scenario.

Pregnancy Troubles Early On

Author: Sandra Wilson

The first trimester of pregnancy, is clearly the most delicate time period. At this time, it is important to pay close attention to any symptoms that may be abnormal. Pregnant women, sometimes experience symptoms, like early vaginal bleeding within those first few months. In most cases, this is simply a natural occurrence that provides no real risk factors.

Early vaginal bleeding or spotting has been known to happen frequently in a woman’s first trimester. If by chance, this situation persists or gets thicker, one should be sure to visit a physician. Having a thorough exam may prevent future problems, or at least give you peace of mind.

If early vaginal bleeding is accompanied by abdominal pain, this could be more serious. This is the notorious way that miscarriages begin. In some women early vaginal bleeding comes from the existence of an ectopic pregnancy. This type of pregnancy occurs when the fertilized egg attaches itself to the woman’s fallopian tubes, instead of in the womb.

If a miscarriage is the reason for early vaginal bleeding, you need to monitor this condition carefully. It’s important to note the color of the blood. This can be crucial to determine what stage of danger your pregnancy may be in. And as with any other abnormal experiences, visiting your doctor is important.

Seeing spotting or bleeding early in pregnancy can signal the existence of various other conditions. One of these is a mucous infection. Mucous is a very important ingredient of the vaginal area. It is especially crucial during pregnancy. Pregnant women have what is called a mucous plug, blocking the cervix.

This mucous plug serves as a sort of barrier of protection for the baby. It protects the baby from bacteria and infection. If mucous infection takes place, this puts not only the pregnancy, but the baby in danger. Naturally mucous begins to thin when labor is near. In fact, the plug will eventually come out. At this point, amniotic fluid will begin to leak out, also triggering labor.

The existence of mucous infection, and other infections, can result in a premature labor. Depending on what stage of pregnancy, the woman is in, this could be dangerous. If her baby hasn’t developed enough to breathe on its own, labor is not favorable. But babies that are nearing the time of delivery have been known to survive a premature labor well.

Some women will notice the gradual thinning of mucous, and will not suffer an infection. But for those who do end up with infection, they need to pay attention to, how much mucous is being secreted. And if mucous is present, along with blood, labor may be eminent. Women who are less than 37 weeks pregnant, are particularly vulnerable in this situation.

Pregnant women who experience trouble, early on in their pregnancy are likely to see abnormal occurrences. It is important to look at both your symptoms, and changes in discharges, seriously. It is also important to talk with your doctor regularly, when problems arise.

Spotting During Pregnancy

Author: Sandra Wilson

With pregnancy spotting, and vaginal discomfort, expectant mothers need to seek their physician’s help. These symptoms can be particularly painful to experience. At the first occurrence of pregnancy spotting, or vaginal discomfort, a pregnant woman needs to get assistance. This is the best way to discover what the problem might be. Although it is normal in some cases to see spotting, it is always a notable concern during pregnancy. And for those who are also having vaginal discomfort, recognizing symptoms can be key to a diagnosis.

Pregnancy spotting, and other symptoms, like discomfort in the vaginal region, can be results of the presence of another ailment. If such a condition doesn’t exist, there could certainly be problems with the pregnancy. It does not matter, at what point in your pregnancy you experience these, you need to be aware of the circumstances. Seeing either pregnancy spotting, or vaginal discomfort, are important symptoms to address, at any phase of the pregnancy.

When a woman is experiencing discomfort in the vagina, and sharp pain, miscarriage is often a necessary concern. This is especially true when she begins to experience spotting. In fact, this is probably one of the first worries of an expectant mother. Rest assured, miscarriage is not the cause, every time that pregnancy spotting, vaginal discomfort, and pain occur.

In some cases, spotting is simply caused by hormonal imbalances. In other cases, spotting occurs because the woman is taking a specific medication. Antibiotics have been known to cause spotting. This is one reason why pregnant women have to be extremely careful when comes to taking any medication.

There are many different reasons why pregnant women notice spotting, and have vaginal discomfort. There are other symptoms that take place, too. Infection, however, is one of the reasons behind these symptoms. When a woman is experiencing some form of infection, whether yeast infection or not, these symptoms occur. Spotting during pregnancy and having a discharge often result from infection.

It is important for an expectant mother to seek assistance from their physician, to deal with these conditions. Dealing with them effectively, can make the difference between a good and a difficult pregnancy. Just like any other illness contracted while pregnant, the unborn child is at risk. So consulting with a doctor is the best way to find low risk treatment.

Vaginal discomfort or pain can result from various reasons. There are some of the most unlikely involve objects in the vaginal area. For some women the presence of a forgotten tampon has been the culprit. In these cases, it will take the help of a doctor to relieve the problem. Stray objects dislodged in the area, have been known to cause these problems.

Symptoms of vaginal pain can be various, as well. Sometimes this pain is accompanied with discharge. This discharge can come in a variety of colors, and should be monitored closely. This is especially important, if an odor exists. Other symptoms, are swelling, itching, and burning. These are often to such an extent that they cannot be ignored.

For these symptoms, doctors can prescribe creams to provide relief. These can be applied to the effected area to help rid a woman of the symptoms she’s experiencing. It is always a good idea to pay close attention to your individual symptoms. This is really the best, most effective way of treating these symptoms, with the hope of relief.

Things to Expect From Pregnancy

Author: Sandra Wilson

Most pregnant women will find that some occurrences during pregnancy are normal. Others will realize that some of their experiences may not be normal at all. This is one reason why physicians encourage their pregnant patients to contact them when problems arise. First time mothers should feel comfortable reporting any issues they are unfamiliar with. It is also a great idea, to become knowledgeable about the changes of pregnancy. There will be changes both physically and emotionally. The more a pregnant woman learns about her condition, the more prepared she is for the changes she’ll experience.

Women are used to experiencing discharges even before they become pregnant. So, it is sometimes surprising to them when they see such and increase in discharge during pregnancy. White discharge doesn’t have to symbolize that there is a problem. In fact, in most cases white discharge is normal.

Experiencing a discharge is just a natural way of the body to discard extra fluids. This seems to speed up quite a bit during pregnancy. Some women even choose to wear pads to accommodate this issue. Seeing a white discharge typically means there is some progesterone in your system. This hormone increases, as well, during pregnancy.

When large amounts of this hormone, is present in the pregnant woman’s body, a white discharge will result. In some cases, this white discharge becomes thick or sticky. It’s particularly important to pay attention to any changes in your discharge. For example, if a normal white discharge shifts to a different color. Also take note if the odor of your discharge starts to smell. This is a symptom to relate to your doctor.

Discharges are not the only common occurrences among pregnant women. Many experience early vaginal spotting, especially during the first trimester. There is nothing unusual about seeing early vaginal spotting.

This spotting occurs in some women just as often as their discharges do. This type of mild spotting has been known to happen frequently during the first few months of pregnancy. It is generally quite harmless, to both mother and child. Although women can panic at the sight of blood, of any amount, it is not necessary with spotting.

It is paramount, however, to recognize if there are changes in the spotting. If for example, the woman starts to experience a flow of blood, this could be serious. She should quickly visit her doctor, or an emergency room. Irregular spotting in some women, is a signal of a miscarriage.

There are many different reasons women see spotting during pregnancy, other than a miscarriage. Some see it after having sexual intercourse. Others experience this as a result of another condition. An infection of the cervix could be a cause of spotting. When these conditions exist, and are treated early in pregnancy, the outlook is good. Women generally can go on to enjoy the rest of their pregnancy without any serious problems.

The more she is familiar, though, with the issues that arise during pregnancy, the better she can handle them when they occur.

Types of Discharge in Pregnancy

Author: Sandra Wilson

Women, who are pregnant, soon find that experiencing discharge becomes a way of life. It is a normal occurrence, almost daily for women. In fact, once a woman becomes pregnant, she will notice even more discharge than before. This is a natural way of the body to discard excess fluids. Discharge is secreted from the cervix and vagina. Although discharge typically poses not risk to pregnant women, it is still a good idea to pay attention to this occurrence. Depending on the strength, color, and odor of discharge one can gage their importance. Pregnant women should pay particular notice to the status of the discharge they are experiencing.

Both white vaginal discharge, and yellow vaginal discharge, should be monitored closely. In those cases where discharge signals another condition, this monitoring is important. White vaginal discharge is generally common in pregnant women. It is the regular process, often caused by the increase of hormones in the body.

Pregnant women have an increase in hormones like, progesterone, and others during pregnancy. These hormones are very crucial to the pregnancy itself, and the woman’s body accommodates this process. These hormones work to stimulate the glands of the cervix. They are then push out of the body, through the form of a white vaginal discharge.

White vaginal discharge is white as its name denotes. However, white vaginal discharge can also be thick and sticky. Typically, this type of discharge does not have an odor. When white vaginal discharge is accompanied by odor, this is something to recognize. The odor in itself or the change in odor can show that another condition may be present.

If for some reason, a pregnant woman’s white vaginal discharge produces other symptoms, their physician should be consulted. Some women experience swelling of the vaginal area with this discharge. And it is also sometimes joined by the sensation of itching and burning. In these cases, a pregnant woman needs not only medical help, but a diagnosis for her condition.

Sometimes this discharge is caused by an infection. In some women, this will be the presence of a yeast infection. Yeast infections can be treated through the use of both antibiotics and topical creams. These can bring relief to the pregnant woman, in generally a short period of time.

Yellow discharge can result for separate reasons altogether. It is sometimes caused by the existence of a sexually transmitted disease. Diseases like chlamydia and gonorrhea are detected from their excretion of yellow discharge from a woman’s vaginal area. Although these diseases can be treated, they must be handled with caution when a woman is pregnant.

Many sexually transmitted diseases can be passed on to a child during childbirth. So, diagnosis in these cases is especially important. Yellow discharge may also be present because either cervical polyps or another condition. Pelvic inflammatory disease has been known to cause yellow discharge to be secreted from the vagina.

Finding the right treatment for any of these conditions is important during pregnancy. A consultation with your doctor will help you pinpoint which options are best for you, and your baby.

Vaginal Bleeding and Discharge During Pregnancy

Author: Sandra Wilson

Any pregnant woman, who is experiencing vaginal bleeding or watery discharge during pregnancy, should be careful. When you’re pregnant, it is not only important to watch your developing changes, but abnormal symptoms, too. Women need to take not of any changes their experiencing, particularly vaginal bleeding or a watery discharge. Both of these can signal serious occurrences in your pregnancy. Depending on the level of each, there may be nothing to worry about. But in some women vaginal bleeding and watery discharge can be a problem. These need to be addressed cautiously, no matter what they result in.

Vaginal bleeding often causes pregnant women a lot of alarm. The first thought in this type of scenario, is that of a miscarriage. Miscarriage, however, is not the only reason behind vaginal bleeding in pregnant women. For some women, the reason may be quite simple. The taking of certain medications, can produce certain levels of bleeding from the vagina.

Medications, like antibiotics, have been known to cause spotting or bleeding. This is one reason why medicine usage habits during pregnancy is important. In these situations, women are dealing with some other condition or ailment, and are treating its symptoms. Sharing, this type of information, with your personal physician is a way to gage its safety, especially while expecting.

Some women will experience bleeding from the vaginal area, because they have illnesses they’re unaware of. In these cases, uterine fibroid tumors, or even cancer, can be to the culprit. This again is why communication with a physician is paramount. Doctors can look at seemingly unrelated symptoms, and occurrences and figure out what your condition may be. It may even be necessary to run tests for a proper diagnosis.

Women normally have a watery discharge, also called leukorrhea. It is usually odorless, or has only a mild odor. This discharge often looks to be milky. Pregnant women traditionally see an increase of normal discharge increases. One reason for this is the presence of more estrogen in the body. It is also encouraged by more blood flow in the entire vaginal area.

This discharge secrets from the cervix and vagina, and is often harmless to pregnant women. It is noteworthy to take caution, if at anytime mucous is present with this discharge. Mucous can signal that the mucous lining or mucous plug blocking the cervix is thinning. This typically happens only when labor is eminent.

If this type of discharge occurs during early pregnancy, this is more of a concern. For a woman nearing her due date, this discharge is probably normal. But for a woman far from the time of delivery, premature labor may have been triggered. If this is the case, seeking medical attention is paramount.

Women who are not yet 37 weeks pregnant, and are, seeing a lot of mucous, in their discharge needs to tell their doctor. This could be a timely way of averting problems with the rest of pregnancy. It is also a good means of protecting your baby’s health, and maybe even its life.

Spotting and Vaginal Discharge During Pregnancy

Author: Sandra Wilson

If you’re expecting, you’ve probably already started to feel your body change, and you’ve probably started to pay extra attention to your diet, sleep patterns and body signals. It’s important to be well-informed as to what changes fall within the norms of a pregnancy, and which changes may be problematic. Take for example, the occurrence of spotting or vaginal discharge during pregnancy. It's actually quite common to experience such symptoms during pregnancy, although this does not exclude the need to consult with your family doctor on occasion.

Here’s is a introductory view, by no means exhaustive, of what you need to know about spotting and vaginal discharge:

Let’s start with spotting. Imagine you were sexually active during the fertile part of your cycle. If you experience light bleeding 6-7 days later (after fertilization) for one or two days, you might be experiencing implantation bleed. You probably wouldn't even know you were pregnant yet. This is when the fertilized egg burrows into your uterus wall.

It is quite frequent to have bleeding after sex, or after a Pap smear or an internal exam. This is because the blood supply to your cervix and pelvis has increased.

This said, a newly pregnant woman needs to pay close attention to slight bleeding during the early phases of her pregnancy. At this stage, it can be an early sign of miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy, especially if accompanied by abdominal pain or cramps. Statistics show that as many as 50% of the women who experience bleeding during early pregnancy miscarry. However, once you have had an ultrasound at 7 to 11 weeks, your chances of continuing the pregnancy are good (over 90%).

You may also experience spotting, after sex or an examination, for reasons that are not related your pregnancy. For example, a benign growth (a cervical polyp), a vaginal infection (such as a yeast infection), or an STD (such as Chlamydia or Herpes) can also cause this kind of slight bleeding.

What about vaginal discharge? If you experience a discharge, it’s quite possible it’s leucorrhea. Leucorrhea is a runny whitish fluid, which is odorless or mild-smelling. You probably noticed it, from time to time, in your underwear before you were pregnant. Now, if you’re seeing more, it’s partly because of increased estrogen production and increased blood circulation in the vaginal area. This vaginal discharge is your body’s way of flushing out bacteria, and it’s is made up, in part, of secretions from the cervix and vagina.

During the last month of your pregnancy, your vaginal discharge is usually heavier and thicker. Then there’s the mucous plug passing, a jelly-like substance, which is something that can happen a 1-2 weeks before labor.

Now if you have an odorless, whitish discharge that's causing itching or burning or a green or yellow discharge, you might have a yeast infection.

For any of the changes you experience during your pregnancy, the rule of thumb is to err in side of caution and to consult your family doctor when you feel it appropriate. In other words, listen to your body.

Pregnancy Miracle - Become Pregnant in Two Months

Author: Cory Jean

Lisa Olson's Pregnancy Miracle is a 240 page book that promises to show you ways to overcome the obstacles that cause infertility by using completely natural and holistic methods. Ms. Olson says that she spent more than 14 years researching infertility, its causes and cures as she battled to overcome her own infertility. Pregnancy Miracle is the culmination of all that she found out during this time. Lisa further states that her techniques will eliminate the need for surgery and the use of harmful drugs and the often associated side effects. She says that typically she has found that women have little problem conceiving within two months after following her methods and the 5 step plan that she has laid out.

The methods that Lisa Olson teaches you in her book Pregnancy Miracle are based upon what she learned from a midwife and practitioner of Chinese and Homeopathic Medicine. Its methods address not only physical but also nutritional aspects that may be causing your infertility. Ms. Olson also tested her system on a group of women aged 28 to 47 and found that within two months 27 of the 35 women who participated in her test group became pregnant. We found this statistic very encouraging and proved to us that the author was serious about her claims and had the proof to back it up.

What we liked so much about Pregnancy Miracle was the fact that it sincerely teaches natural and holistic methods to help a couple become pregnant. In our research we found that many of the other resources that claim "natural and holistic" still used IVF and various other pharmaceuticals in addition to methods that were "natural". In our eyes this sort of negates the "naturalness" of any methods. Pregnancy Miracle is also not only for the woman in the relationship. It works for couples that are experiencing issues that may be attributed to the man in the relationship also...a very often overlooked aspect of many couple's infertility problems.

We found this book to be a good read but what we found so refreshing was that it was written by someone that has "been there and done that." Yes, Lisa and her husband struggled for 14 years to have a child and happily report that she is the mother of not one but two darling children. All of this at the age of 43! This is typically an age at which most people would have given up and chosen adoption or other avenues. As a matter of fact, we found that many infertility clinics use this age as a factor in evaluating a client's likelihood in overcoming infertility....and this was exactly when Lisa Olson became pregnant. Neat stuff!

We have no problem in recommending this book to anyone wishing to look into natural and holistic avenues to reverse both male and female infertility issues. With the cost of traditional infertility treatment it also proves to be the most economical option for those having problems getting pregnant

Surrogacy - A Biological Miracle To Attain Parenthood!

Author: James Johnson

Surrogacy is a biological process where a woman carries and gives birth to a baby of some other woman. It is a mutual contract signed by both the parties which involves the childless couple and the woman (surrogate henceforth) who carries their child and delivers it. The surrogate can be of two types depending upon the types of surrogacy:

• Natural Surrogate-She can be a genetic mother (biological mother) of the child which is conceived via artificial insemination or sexual intercourse with the biological father.

• IVF Surrogate or Gestational Carrier-She can be a gestational carrier where she is being implanted with an embryo and carries pregnancy till the delivery date. In this particular case, child is conceived with the help of egg donation, sperm donation, and embryo transfer or donation.

It’s important to understand which couples are advised to opt for what type of surrogacy:

Natural Surrogacy is counseled when:

• Woman has some genetic disorder and is likely to pass it onto the progeny.

• Women whose ovaries are no more functioning owing to premature. menopause

• Women who are suffering from diabetes, tuberculosis, heart ailments, or kidney disorders and are incapable of conceiving or giving birth.

IVF Surrogacy or Gestational is suggested when:

• A woman whose uterus is malfunctioning or not formed appropriately to carry a full pregnancy to the end term are suggested to opt for surrogacy as they may likely to have miscarriages.

• Woman who is suffering from diabetes, heart problems or kidney disorders should avoid pregnancy.

• Woman who have no uterus are incapable of carrying fertilized eggs. So, women whose ovaries produce eggs but cannot fertilize them due to the absence of uterus should also opt for IVF surrogacy. Mostly women cancer patients, or with busted womb are required to have hysterectomy (removal of uterus from the body) which renders them incapable for giving birth to a child. In such severe cases IVF surrogacy is suggested.

• Repeated miscarriages weaken the womb and may often leads to its rupture. In such situation woman should opt for IVF surrogacy.

You can easily find surrogates via agents or surrogacy clinics who sign a legal contract for carrying your child till delivery. Mostly, you are required to pay all the charges which will incur during entire pregnancy till delivery date. All these issues need to be discussed beforehand so that no issue erupts in the middle of gestation. Once, the baby is delivered the surrogate has no right over it and is paid for her job right away as per the mutual legal contract signed.

In several nations surrogacy is still considered as an illegal procedure of conceiving a child. However, most of the developed and developing nations have accepted this scientific process of making childless couple a happy parent readily. UK is one such nation that readily agrees to surrogacy and on the other hand there is USA where many states have different jurisdiction for surrogacy process.

Even if there is no worldwide acceptance to this biological miracle yet it is helping thousands of childless couples becoming parent. UK, Australia, and some states of US have even launched medical tour program in order to create awareness and seek cheap avenues for surrogates. India on other hand becomes a good choice being less expensive and providing equivalent quality of treatment.

Author: Shannon Courtney

But do you know that you can save that amount of money and use a 100% natural and safe techniques. Yes! The methods exist and have already been proven by almost 12,000 couples or more. Today, I will discuss 2 of the most effective ways you can use for trying to conceive a girl.

Before we start our journey on how to conceive a girl, let us first look at how a woman can get pregnant and conceive a boy or girl. There are two different types of sperms that can influence the decision to choose the sex of baby. The X for a baby girl and Y for a baby boy. Thus, if you are planning to conceive a baby boy, the Y boy sperm should be the one to fertilize the egg. Where else, the X girl sperm must fertilize the egg first for conceiving a baby girl. We shall look at the secret methods to conceive a girl below.

Method 1:
One of the best secrets on how to conceive a girl is to know when you should have intercourse. The first step is to pinpoint the exact timing of your next ovulation. This can be done by using an ovulation test kit to find the ovulation status.

Once you got the date, you should start to count backwards for 3 to 4 days from the date of the ovulation. Yes! This is the exact period that you should have intercourse for conceiving a girl. Natural Childbirth - the way nature intended

Author: pew singh

Every woman dreams of a Natural Childbirth. This is how it always used to be but nowadays it isn't so common to have a natural childbirth. People believe that by not having a C-section they have had a natural birth. But what about all the drugs and pain killers and the birthing environment?

The type of birth experience you receive seems more conditional on time and medical resources than the real issue or your wants. Women should begin to take back control of their births.

Taking into consideration things such as your health, mental state and physical shape will help you in your goal of experiencing a natural childbirth. You need to also make yourself knowledgeable about birthing techniques and in particular techniques that give you the control over your body.

Natural childbirth is achievable if your body and you are in equilibrium, and you have done the preparation.

Also pay attention to what you put into your body. Make sure you eat the proper foods and make sure you cut down the amount of toxins entering your body. And by toxins I don’t just mean things you eat. Check out your surroundings too.

There are plenty of resources available such as books and DVD's about natural childbirth. For such resources and details of techniques visit our website.

Part of your education should deal with the stages of pregnancy and what happens during each phase. In particular what happens to your body. Learn what your body will experience and try and learn how you can adapt your body positions in order to make it easier for your baby.

Your partner is essential and should be involved the whole way through. The success of your natural childbirth depends highly upon your partner and his fundamental interaction.

Most significantly you will need to find a midwife or birthing practitioner who supports your needs and will do everything in their power to ensure your natural childbirth is successful. Form a relationship with this person leading up to the birth, it is very important and it will help during the birth process.

Witnessing the birth of your child changes your life, experiencing a positive natural childbirth heightens it so much more. You can have all this and without drugs or medical interference and in turn be able to tell a wonderful birth story to your friends. Something which you do not hear too often these days, unfortunately.

Breast Milk & Leaking Boobs

Author: Breastmates

Leaking Boobs! Its not the ideal conversation topic for new mothers, but it is something that happens with about 99% of new mothers. When you are a breastfeeding mom, between feeding times your breasts can just sometimes leak out milk. Sometimes if you are walking past a baby, or if you think about your baby, you will also feel the milk let down and have a leak.

The milk let down sensation is a tingling feeling. And the milk leaks will drip out from your nipple.

It is extremely common for breasts to leak regularly when your baby is new born, while your breast milk and breast feeding routine are getting established. Some women also leak more over night.

Then as your baby gets older, and your breast milk production settles down, you may find that your breasts don't leak as much.

The amount of time that breast leak does vary between mothers. Some it may be for 6 weeks, or for others it will be around 6 months, 9 months, or for the entire breastfeeding period.

To absorb leaks you need breast pads. There are several options available, such as reusable breast pads, disposable breast pads, breast shells. The one that you choose to you, will depend on your budget (throwing away disposable breast pads will cost you $$), and it will also depend if you can be bothered with the washing and reusing. The other option now available is for Lily Pads - which are a breathable silicone breast shell which push your nipple down continuously - and prevent leaks from even occurring.

Personally, my breasts leaked a LOT when my son was a newborn. I was changing them regularly to ensure I didnt get any leakage through my clothing. But now that he is reaching 6 months old, this week particularly, I am noticing that my boobs are not leaking as much.

Pregnancy Tips - Should You Have An Epidural?

Author: Susan Marshfield

When it comes to labor and delivery time, one of the things you hear discussed immediately is in regards to having, or not having, an epidural. Should you have one? What are the potential problems associated with them? Here's a look at this and more.

The basics behind an epidural is that they can greatly reduce pregnancy labor and delivery pains. It is a form of pain relief that goes through a small catheter in your lower back. The medicine is controlled by a pump and delivers the medication on a regular basis as set by the nurse.

Generally speaking, but not in all cases, you will have the option of getting an epidural once you dilate to a 3-5. Why is that? Because the medicine relieves, and nearly eliminates the pain, it can prevent you from going further into labor. That is not what you want to have happen.

Many people mistakenly believe that having an epidural can somehow harm your baby, but this is not true. The only side effects will that you may get a headache or feel nauseous. Sometimes you may also get an itchy feeling.

The main concern you will be monitored for is your blood pressure. There is always a chance that it may create a sudden drop in your body's blood pressure. If so, you don't need to be overly concerned. There are medications your doctor will give you to alleviate the issue.

Can anyone have an epidural during labor? No, not all women can have one. If you are experiencing bleeding, placenta previa or fetal distress, you most likely will not be given one. With that said, only your own doctor will be able to make that decision at the time.

One thing is for sure though, having one is a blessing. For anyone who has gone through the process I'm sure you would agree.

Infertility: The Male Side Of The Baby Making Equation?

Author: Cory Jean

I know that that you are a pretty intelligent person and that this will make sense to you but…did you know that infertility isn’t always caused by a female issue? That’s right. Approximately 40% of all cases of infertility can be traced to a male infertility issue either whole or in part.

I know that this is common sense to most of us but for some reason it is usually the woman that has to do most of the hard work in modern day infertility treatment. The woman is the one that has to monitor her cycle and deal with taking pills with some very nasty side affects. Then there are examinations and procedures that would cause most guys to take a hard look at adoption if they were performed upon him! Yes, guys…I know that the yearly prostate check isn’t pleasant but it doesn’t come near what a woman has to go through in the course of a year to garner any sort of sympathy.

My point here and a worthwhile suggestion would be that if you are having infertility issues that it might be time to explore all possible avenues that might help you to become pregnant…together! What is good for the goose is good for the gander!

Any changes in diet and exercise should be embraced by the male side of the baby making equation also. If nothing else, you might wind up becoming pregnant quicker by each focusing on doing whatever is necessary to improve your health and body so you can share in that happy day together when you find out that you are successful.

These days there are many alternatives to paying thousands of dollars to an infertility clinic. There has been a recent renewal of interest in holistic and natural alternatives to help you overcome infertility. Chinese medicine is now a popular and viable alternative to mainstream medical procedures that many are choosing thanks to it’s natural properties but even more for the success rates that couples are finding with these ancient cures for infertility.

The focus of these holistic cures for infertility is to heal the body in natural way. The problem is address in the least invasive way possible, whether that be a problem with fallopian tubes that are blocked or swollen with the mother…or low sperm count in the father. No quick fix is made to treat the symptoms…the body as a whole is cured of whatever is ailing it.

You see…infertility isn’t a disease. It is only a symptom of an underlying condition. An imbalance or problem…or multiple problems within the bodies of the future mother and father are the cause of the infertility. Once these conditions are treated and the bodies are healthy once again most couples have very little problem becoming pregnant…not only once but multiple times!

When you take into consideration the success rate of Chinese medicine and it’s methodology you will find that it should be your next step on your path to pregnancy. Why not research it further and give it some consideration? You might find that both you and the father of your child become closer in sharing this time and overcoming infertility together…

Pregnancy after Tubal Ligation

Author: Sandra Wilson

If you have had your tubes tied you may be wondering about a pregnancy after tubal ligation. Your concern may come from one of two sources. First off, while you have been told that tubal ligation is a permanent form of birth control, you may have heard stories of women still getting pregnant. That can be scary and something you are totally unprepared to have happen.

The second source of your wondering may be the fact that you want a pregnancy after tubal ligation. For many reasons there is a percentage of women who change their minds. Maybe their marital situation has changed. Maybe there is guilt about not being "whole". Maybe they have been suffering from post tubal ligation syndrome and their lives are just miserable. Maybe the worst of all, a child has died and the family no longer feels complete. There are any number of reasons for this change of heart.

In the first scenario above, where you might fear you could still get pregnant, you should know that it is possible. However, the likelihood is very small. Less than 2 women out of 100 get pregnant following a tubal ligation. This was the outcome of a recent study. That's the good news.

The bad news is that if you are in that very small group, there is a high possibility that you will have an ectopic pregnancy. An ectopic pregnancy is where the fetus implants somewhere other than the uterus. Maybe there is enough blockage to keep it from reaching the uterus. It's also possible to attach somewhere outside the fallopian tube.

What this means is that if you do show any signs of having a pregnancy after tubal ligation, get to your doctor ASAP. Left untreated, an ectopic pregnancy can lead to all kinds of problems, up to and including being a threat to your life. If caught quickly, a drug is used to stop the development. Otherwise, you may be looking a surgery.

Now for the second scenario we look at women who want another pregnancy after tubal ligation. For whatever reason, you may have changed your mind. In this case, you will be happy to know that tubal ligation is not necessarily the permanent form of birth control you were told. In fact, you can find tubal surgeons who will perform an operation known as tubal reversal.

However, you will want to be very sure that you find a tubal reversal doctor who is very experienced at this procedure. DO NOT select a surgeon who only performs a handful, if that many, of these a year. You chances for a successful reversal will be greater with a more experienced surgeon who has seen everything.

Better yet would be selecting a tubal surgeon who works at a tubal reversal center or clinic where that operation is all they do. If you go to a fertility clinic that also has IVF, that is what they will push on you. After all, it costs more. Unfortunately for all that cost, it is less successful for any one cycle than tubal reversal thus usually requiring more cycles at even greater cost.

Holistic Infertility Cures Boast a 70% Success Rate

Author: Cory Jean

The heartbreak and unspoken disappointment that goes hand in hand with infertility is something that most people will never understand. You are hesitant to even share with most people that you and your significant other are having this problem…not so much out of embarrassment but more because there really is nothing positive that someone might be able to say to you.

You are sick of hearing that you should relax and that once you stop trying you’ll get pregnant. You don’t want to hear about adoption or about someone’s cousin who had the same problem. None of this helps or gives you hope. You spend time searching for an answer and every month you hope and pray with everything that you have that you could just get pregnant and have a child of your own. Your pain is only amplified by stories of abuse and neglect against children. You wonder why it is so easy for others to have children that they don’t even want yet you desire nothing more than to love and care for a baby of your own.

As you explore your options you have probably been steered in the direction of fertility clinics and fertility specialist. Yes, these people deal with infertility every day they go to work and they can provide services that have worked for many. They might even be straight with you about your odds of conceiving using various methods that they have developed. The price tag may be steep but you honestly can’t put a price on being a parent and you would give up every last penny you have to be a parent and have a child of your own.

You may have explored other options and read about holistic cures for infertility. Chinese Medicine is even becoming more and more popular even in the medical community. Fertility clinics are beginning to add acupuncture to their list of services to “help” clients who are going through IVF, as a matter of fact.

Did you know that Chinese Medicine and other holistic and natural cures for infertility often work for couples that had no success with IVF and other procedures commonly offered by fertility clinics? You actually might have better success and save yourself a lot of time (and money) by taking a few months and trying some of these methods.

Chinese herbs are statistically proven to cure approximately 70% of the cases of infertility with some studies showing 50% success rates and other studies claiming 90% success rates. Methods will focus upon both you and your significant other and when you address other aspects of your lifestyle such as diet, exercise and stress the success rate is bound to go up. Yes, the biological clock is ticking but you might actually find better success from a natural and holistic cure for your infertility.

The Pregnancy Journey

Author: Sandra Wilson

It is no secret that the process of pregnancy provides many changes in a woman’s body. Some of these changes are joyful, while others are difficult to address. Fortunately for expectant mothers, there is a wealth of information out there, to help them with these changes. One such change pregnant women commonly experience is hair problems. The hair problems pregnant women suffer can be mild, all the way to severe. One of the most simple hair problems women see, is a change in the overall texture of their hair. Women who typically have soft silky, hair have seen it change. Instead they end up with rough, hard to manage hair during pregnancy.

These types of hair problems can be easily dealt with. Most often a simple change of hair care products can alleviate the hair problems. Different products can allow the hair to become more manageable. Women also want hair that not only feels good, but looks good as well. Hair care products, can provide this for them.

Other of the hair problems pregnant women experience, is a change in hair type. Some women who have normally oily hair, may see their hair become dry. These hair problems can also be handled with the right hair care products. Finding shampoos and conditioners, that have an added moisturizer, can particularly cure dry hair.

Hair problems in extreme cases involve the loss of hair. At least 40 - 50% of all pregnant women experience some form of hair loss while they’re pregnant. This is a common occurrence that can be addresses by dietary changes. Hair loss can also be remedied, in some pregnant women by the taking of supplements.

Pregnant women don’t only experience outward changes during the process of pregnancy. Many of them experience various other conditions as a result of being pregnant. Cholestastis, is one of those conditions. In cholestastis, bile is prevented from flowing naturally from the liver, and a blockage exists.

The unique thing about this condition is that it is only developed in pregnant women. This condition is another result of changes in the woman’s body. Typically it is developed in pregnant women who are in late pregnancy, most commonly the last trimester. One of the most well known symptoms of cholestastis is the itching, of various parts of the woman’s body.

This condition is treatable, and if caught early, presents no major risk to the unborn child. Topical creams are used to relieve the itching. And other medications are used to combat the other symptoms of cholestastis. There are also a number of natural remedies for symptoms. Both dandelion root and milk thistle can be used, because they are beneficial to the liver.

During pregnancy it is especially important to pay attention to all of the changes your body experiences. Many of them will be normal ones, experience by most pregnant women. But in other cases, these changes need to be addressed by your physician. Monitoring your own changes and symptoms, throughout pregnancy can be paramount to keeping yourself and your baby healthy.

Managing Sciatica during Pregnancy

Author: Sandra Wilson

As if general aches and pains weren’t enough, some pregnant women find themselves with an even more painful condition: sciatica during pregnancy. This condition occurs when the baby’s head presses against the mother’s sciatic nerve, which runs down the spine, into the pelvis and upper leg area. The symptoms are shooting pains or numbness in the lower back, sometimes radiating over the buttocks and down the thighs. The numbness can sometimes be paralyzing.

Sciatica during pregnancy can in theory, occur anytime during your term, but is most likely to appear during the second and third trimesters, when the baby’s head is largest and pressing down the most. Unfortunately, when the sciatic nerve is impacted the pain can be severe enough to be immobilizing. Because it is caused directly by the positioning of the baby, often not much can be done about it until the baby is born. The trouble is compounded because hormonal changes cause loosening in tendons and ligaments as the body is prepared for childbirth. This creates greater instability in the back and pelvic area, and a greater likelihood that pressure will be put on the nerve.

Unfortunately, there is no reliable way to prevent sciatica during pregnancy. What is known however, is that women who are healthy and in good physical condition are less likely to suffer from its most debilitating effects. This is because good muscle tone means they are better able to support the additional weight of pregnancy, and their range of motion tends to be better, even when the sciatic nerve is impacted.

Some cases of sciatica during pregnancy are severe enough that prescription medication is required, but most doctors prefer to treat pregnant women in other ways, if possible. For a bad case, bed rest is usually recommended, along with a course of deep tissue massage, and alternating hot and cold compresses on the affect area.

There are some healthy habits you can cultivate as well. Be mindful of your posture. The more you slouch, the more likely you are to put pressure on the nerve. Wear flat shoes, or keep the heel low so your weight is more evenly distributed. Sleep on a firm mattress, or even on the floor, with a pillow between your knees. When you get out of bed, first roll onto one side, and let your legs over the side first. This is when a lot of sciatic nerves are damaged, so be extra careful when getting up.

There are also exercises called “Williams Exercises” that have been specially formulated to combat sciatica during pregnancy. When done correctly, these exercises take pressure off the sciatic muscle and loosen spasms when they occur. Swimming, walking, and prenatal massage have also been shown to be helpful in treating this condition. Stretches are also helpful in keeping the muscles around the sciatic nerve from tightening up enough to cause harm.

Sciatica is an unpleasant and painful condition, but if you keep good posture, and perform the right exercises diligently, you just might be able to get it to pass you by.

Using Prenatal Massage for Back Pain Relief

Author: Sandra Wilson

One thing that most expecting mothers have in common is a list of aches and pains that seems to grow larger as the due date approaches. Fortunately, a branch of massage therapy known as prenatal massage is available just to help those women whose bodies are sore and tired from the experience of pregnancy. Back pain is one of the bigger problems in a pregnancy, and prenatal massage is an excellent tool to provide back pain relief during pregnancy.

Prenatal massage is meant to alleviate tension, help minimize aches and pains throughout the body, improve circulation, and make the mother feel better about the whole experience in general. Some areas where stress seems to accumulate are the back, neck and shoulders. Legs can also benefit, since massaging helps reduce blood pooling, and the head, feet, hands and face can be gently massaged to help relieve tension.

One of the big benefits of prenatal massage is that it can provide back pain relief during pregnancy by relieving muscular tension in the back and neck, alleviate stress on various joints and the lower back, and by promoting proper posture along with the reduction of stress hormones.

One of the more common ways in which prenatal massage is performed is to have the expectant mother lie on her side on the massage table. Or, they can make use of a pillow designed especially for expecting mothers. The pillow has a big center cutout, so the mother can lie on her stomach, feeling completely relaxed and comfortable. It is generally not recommended that you lie flat on your back, as this can reduce or cut off circulation to both mother and child.

If you have high blood pressure or diabetes, massage is usually not recommended, but it is safe for most other expectant mothers. If you have any questions about whether or not your should get a massage, check with your doctor first. Be sure to tell the therapist up front if you are having any complications with your pregnancy.

Depending on your comfort level, and how much time you have available, a session can last anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour. If you can manage it, try to get a massage once a week during the second trimester, and twice a week during the third. The closer you get to your due date, the more important it is that you feel happy and relaxed.

Prenatal massage has a number of benefits aside from relieving back pain. It improves circulation and digestion, reduces fatigue and swelling in hands, feet and legs. It can ease headaches, lessen pain in the pelvic and hip area, promotes deep breathing and relaxation, and can help cure insomnia. It is also beneficial on an emotional level; as it provides a time for the mother to unwind, relax, and let some of the stress of pregnancy just melt away.

This massage is safe for most expecting mothers, so take the opportunity to find a good massage therapist in your area who can help make your pregnancy much more pleasant, relaxed and free from pain.

When most women find out that they are pregnant, the first thing they want to figure out is when the baby is due. This is the most common use for a pregnancy due date calculator. However, there are also other uses for websites that provide these calendars.

While you can find out your estimated delivery date from your doctor, who will calculate 280 days from your last period to determine this, you can also use online pregnancy due date calculators. They use the same method, and also can give you week by week information on how the baby is growing and what the fetus is like at each stage of pregnancy. Some of these calculators can also tell you what symptoms you might be experiencing and what can be done to alleviate them a bit. Most of these websites aim to give you as much information as possible. You just register with the website and you can just log in to get all the information mentioned above.

Many times doctors use ultrasounds in order to confirm the accuracy of a pregnancy due date calculator. This is often done because women don't always accurately know when their last period started, or the date of conception. By using an ultrasound, the due date can be confirmed or altered depending on the state of development of the fetus. This can be a more accurate way of determining that due date than a calculator.

Just keep in mind that however your delivery date is determined, it is not likely to be the actual date when the baby arrives. Babies come on their own time, and this actually just gives you a good idea of when to expect the baby. Typically most babies arrive either in the two weeks before or the two weeks after the due date. Those arriving a couple weeks before the delivery date are still considered full term since anything after 37 weeks is considered full term. Once your due date has passed you will have to have frequent doctor visits to monitor the baby and make sure that it is doing well. Usually once a baby is more than two weeks late a doctor will induce since it starts to get riskier after this time.

Due Date Calendar - Do You Know For Sure, Will Your Baby Arrive On Time?

Author: Michelle Pennington

A pregnancy due date calendar is created based on the fact that an average pregnancy is usually considered to be forty weeks from the start of your last period. Therefore, women usually don't even realize that they are pregnant until they are classified as being four or more weeks pregnant according to this system. Doctors and other medical professionals, as well as online calculators, use the date of the start of your last period and add 280 days in order to come up with an estimated delivery date so they (and you) have an idea of around when the baby will arrive.

These estimated delivery dates that you get from using a pregnancy due date calendar really aren't all that accurate. Most women do not know the exact day of conception (which is why they use the start of your last period, women usually have a better idea of when this was) and different people have cycles of different lengths. Doctors usually expect babies to arrive any time from two weeks before the due date to two weeks after the due date.

Only a very small percentage of babies are actually born on the actual due date that the mothers were given. About five to ten percent of babies show up on this date. It is more common for babies to be early or late.

About 30 to 40 percent of babies come before their delivery date, which can be worrying to some women. However, 37 weeks is considered full term, so it is not a big deal to have a baby arrive a couple weeks early, and premature babies are only a very small percentage of those that arrive early.

Babies born after their due date are the most common, with about 50 percent of babies taking their own sweet time to arrive. If your baby doesn't show up around your delivery date, the doctor will monitor you closely to make sure the baby is doing well, and if it gets too late or the baby starts to be distressed they will induce you.

Since more babies are born on other days than on the actual date given by a due date calendar, you should keep in mind that these are just estimates and be prepared for an arrival either before or after that date.

The Female Orgasm Could Be The Infertility Cure You're Looking For

Author: Cory Jean

I read an article recently that claimed that a woman is more likely to become pregnant if she were to have an orgasm during or after a "baby making" session with her partner. I found this an interesting subject and thought of how this might be either proven or disproved and all the different reasons why or why not.

One thought that came to mind is that typically when a couple is struggling with infertility much of the romance and passion is removed from the bedroom. I remember discussing this once with my brother who was going through the trials and tribulations of infertility with his wife. He told me that he never thought that he would ever turn down a romp with his wife but that the "schedule" that they had to abide by left little room for spontaneity. There were times when he was half asleep on the couch and he would almost cringe when his wife would say that she was fertile and that it was time for them to "try."

This made me wonder what it was like for a woman. Could it be that this lack of spontaneity also affected many women and kept them from achieving orgasm due to the almost clinical nature of the rendezvous? I mean, for some women "faking an orgasm" is almost a joke. Women can pull it off but a guy can't...especially in these circumstances where it is a vital part of the "baby making equation"! So, could it be that the lack of a female orgasm is the missing link to why many couples have infertility issues when they are trying so hard and why many couples wind up conceiving once they stop trying?

Further investigation found that during the early 1900's the female orgasm was actually prescribed by many doctors to help cure infertility. That's right! Doctors would actually tell a woman that if she was having issues getting pregnant that she should make sure that she had an orgasm after her partner. It was thought that this caused the cervix to "dip down" into the vagina and help the semen to make it's way up into the uterus and then the fallopian tubes.

Later this theory was supposedly disproved by Masters and Johnson when they did an experiment in a lab. A radioactive dye was placed in a patient and then after the female had experienced an orgasm they took an x-ray to see if the dye had been sucked up into the uterus. It was found that this theory was incorrect.

I wondered further though if the secretions that are present during or after a female has an orgasm helps the male's semen any by providing either a chemical or physical environment that is more conducive to either the sperm's heath or vitality....whether that be in the vagina or uterus or the actual fallopian tubes. I do think that this would require further research but I do believe that there is something to this theory that the female orgasm can help cure some cases of infertility. If nothing else, much like chicken soup, it can't hurt!
